Low Emission Zone



Kaunas Old Town Low Emission Zone (LEZ):

This zone covers the area near the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers, bounded by Šv. Gertrūda Street (from Kaunas Castle to Gimnazijos Street), Gimnazijos Street, Birštonas Street, and Karaliaus Mindaugas Avenue (from Birštonas Street to Aleksotas Street), excluding A. Mapu Street.

Entry into this zone is subject to a 2-euro fee, which also includes the first hour of parking.

To enter the low emission zone, drivers can pay the fee through the UniPark and carOne mobile apps, as well as at parking meters. Additionally, payment can be made after leaving the zone via the website stz.parkavimaskaune.lt.

Residents, businesses, electric vehicles, and disabled individuals can obtain free permits through self-service at savitarna.parkavimaskaune.lt.

Permits:

All issued parking and access permits are electronic.
Permits can be obtained:

  • On the website savitarna.parkavimaskaune.lt
  • By filling out the permit application form and sending it via email to info@parkavimaskaune.lt
  • By visiting Puodžių St. 24-1, Kaunas

  • The single-entry fee for the Low Emission Zone is 2 euros.
  • This fee must be paid within 7 calendar days.

  • How to check if you need to pay the pollution tax through the UNIPARK app?

    1. Open the UNIPARK app.
    2. Tap on the wallet icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
    3. Select the FEES column.
    4. Tap on OLD TOWN POLLUTION TAX
    5. The app will check if a tax is assigned to the selected car number. If the tax is assigned, click the “PAY” button.
