If motor vehicles with a total mass exceeding 3.5 tons enter the reconstructed sections of Laisv\u0117s al., S. Daukanto g., and Nepriklausomyb\u0117s a., coordination must be obtained from the Municipality Administration City Management Department.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Laisv\u0117s al. is a pedestrian zone with a reconstructed road surface. Driving (entering, parking) motor vehicles in zones designated for pedestrians, i.e., within 3-4 meters from building walls, in the tree alley on granite pavement (light-colored granite slabs) is strictly prohibited<\/u>. Driving is allowed only on dark-colored granite pavement.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

From January 1, 2019, only electronic permits<\/strong> are issued for the entry of motor vehicles into state-protected areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The budget institution “Parkavimas Kaune” issues permits for the entry of motor vehicles into state-protected areas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Information and documents that the person must submit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

To obtain a permit, it is necessary for the responsible person to submit directly or electronically:<\/p>\n

1. A request containing: the applicant’s (legal entity) name, legal form, code, place of residence, the applicant’s (natural person) name, surname, date of birth, correspondence address, phone number, applicant’s email address (if the applicant has one), the territory (address) the applicant wishes to enter, the purpose of entry, technical data of the vehicle (model, make, registration number), and the validity period of the permit;<\/div>\n
2. Copy (copies) of the vehicle’s (vehicles’) registration document(s);<\/div>\n
3. Copy of the lease (use, etc.) agreement or other document confirming the right to use the premises, if the premises are not owned;<\/div>\n
4. Consent of the owner, holding the premises under ownership or other legitimate grounds, if the issuance of the permit is free of local fees (no consent is required when the applicant is the owner of these premises);<\/div>\n
5. Copy of the contract for work (services) with the Municipality, if the vehicle is needed for work according to the contract with the Municipality;<\/div>\n
\n

6. Copy of the document confirming the payment of the local fee, if the issuance of the permit is subject to the payment of the local fee, and the applicant wishes to expedite the permit issuance.<\/p>\n

Order No. A-3611 of the Director of the Administration of the Kaunas City Municipality of December 15, 2016, “On the Amendment of Order No. A-1858 of June 17, 2016, of the Director of the Administration of the Kaunas City Municipality Regarding the Approval of the Description of the Procedure for Issuing Permits for the Entry of Mechanical Vehicles into State Protected Areas and the Form of the Permit”<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Information on Payment for the Permit<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Local charges must be paid by transferring money to the specified account. Otherwise, the payment will not be credited.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The following charges are established for the issuance of a permit to enter state-protected areas (hereinafter referred to as the permit):
\n\u2013 For a permit to enter with vehicles weighing no more than 3.5 tons, for one day \u2013 6 euros;
\n\u2013 For a permit to enter with vehicles weighing no more than 3.5 tons, for one month \u2013 80 euros;
\n\u2013 For a permit to enter with vehicles weighing no more than 3.5 tons, for one year \u2013 700 euros;
\n\u2013 For a permit to enter with vehicles weighing no more than 12 tons, for one day \u2013 30 euros;
\n\u2013 For a permit to enter with vehicles weighing no more than 12 tons, for one month \u2013 500 euros;
\n\u2013 For a permit to enter with vehicles weighing more than 12 tons, for one day \u2013 50 euros.<\/p>\n

Exemption from the Charge:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Individuals who own, lease, or hold the right of trust or other legal basis for premises (structures) registered as separate real estate units in state-protected areas, or when their declared place of residence is in state-protected areas, issuing no more than 2 permits for one premises (structure), excluding garages \u2013 issuing 1 permit for those who manage them. This provision applies when issuing permits only for vehicles weighing no more than 3.5 tons;<\/p>\n

2. Municipal-controlled companies, contractors who have contracts with the Municipality for work or services provision in state-protected areas;<\/p>\n

3. When emergency repairs are carried out within 5 working days from the start of the work on streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, squares, and engineering networks located in state-protected areas. Individuals may enter the protected area to eliminate the emergency, and work can commence without a permit. However, they must inform the Municipality Administration City Management Department, Public Order Department, Customer Service Department, and the eldership by email before the start of the work, specifying the exact location of the work. A responsible person with a written authorization from the company that ordered the work must be present at the site of the emergency;<\/p>\n

4. During major events in Kaunas city organized by the Municipality, its institutions, and approved by the decision of the City Council (events endorsed by the Commission for the Organization of Events in Public Places in Kaunas, and a certificate has been issued);<\/p>\n

5. In accordance with the procedure established by legal acts, for registered charity and support providers conducting activities in state-protected areas.
